Florida Gators head coach Urban Meyer has announced that he will coach the team during its springs practices.
Meyer, who was dealing with some health scares regarding his heart, had originally stepped down as the head coach of the Gators.
The head coach said he tried to step aside and stop working, but has only taken a day and a half off since the end of the season. He said he just couldn’t stop working.
The coach said things have been getting better health-wise of late, as he has been eating, working out and gained 20 pounds over the last couple of months.
This is good news for Gators fans, who had to be worried that their top football program was in uncertain times following his initial announcement.

The Florida Gators made quick work of the Cincinnati Bearcats in a 54-21 victory in the Sugar Bowl.
It was a game that many felt could be a very good one, with two top teams from their respective conferences battling in a contest featuring the end of Tim Tebow’s career and the undefeated Bearcats.
Instead, Florida overwhelmed Cincinnati from the first whistle and took a commanding lead into halftime. The game was essentially already over by the second quarter.
For Tebow, it was the perfect performance in which to end his college career. He threw for 482 yards and three touchdowns, in some ways silencing all of his critics who doubt his passing ability.
The Bearcats simply caught the Gators at the wrong time, as Florida was still probably fuming from its very disappointing performance against Alabama in the SEC championship game.

Florida Gators head coach Urban Meyer is taking a leave of absence after some health scares have made him reconsider his priorities.
The coach initially made it seem as though he was done coaching for a long time, though now it seems as if he will simply take time off until the start of the 2010 season.
Meyer has had some health scares with regard to chest pains, but he has made it clear that in no way is his condition life-threatening. He simply wants to take some time off and see how his body responds.
The coach apparently had to be rushed to the hospital after the SEC championship game because he collapsed and would not respond to his wife as he laid on the ground.
He said that his intensity and desire to be involved in everything relating to the football program is causing him significant stress that is affecting his health.
